Seniors: Josh.

Dressing up sharper than ever, Josh was a natural to shoot! You guys probably remember last year he modeled for me for one of my photo shoots, so it was awesome to shoot with him again for his seniors!

Enjoy!

The lighting that day couldn't be more perfect!

I think I've finally figured out how to free-lens, and I LOVE it! (Even if it does risk dirty-ing the sensor in my camera, the results are totally worth it!

Here's this shoot's Incognito Model:

When I told Josh what I was doing, he starting cracking up so I just had to get a photo!

For Josh's conceptual photo piece, I already knew what I wanted when I knew I was going to shoot his seniors. Josh does a lot of brilliant drawings/doodles/typography and I couldn't pass that up.

Artists, whether its a photographic artist, a dance artist, or a sketching artist, they all create. I asked him before the shoot if he could draw me up a cute little stick couple so I could make his creations come to life in a different platform.

Hope you have a fantastic senior year Josh, you're almost done bud!

Seniors: Luke.

With one of the most relaxed dispositions I've ever seen, Luke was super easy to shoot. (Even if he is a good 6" taller than me, and I'm nearly 6'!) Here are some of the shots I took of him, so enjoy!

Shoutout to my assistant Jake for helping me out that morning: the wind decided to be a little playful and Jake handled like a trooper!

Oh, did I mention that he is an exceptional basketball player?

...And he can dunk.

Whenever I do a senior session, no matter where it is, there always seems to be other people who interrupt my photo shoots by walking in the background.

So I've made a point to take pictures of these people and call them "My Incognito Models"

For last but not least, here is the conceptual art piece that I made with Luke. Everyone who knows Luke knows that he's super tall and towers pretty much everyone he knows. When I was thinking of an idea, he mentioned that I should make him into some sort of tree, which sparked an immediate idea: even though I wouldn't make him a tree in the normal sense, I would surround a tree sort of concept around him.

Thanks Luke for being a trooper while Jake moved a large three-pronged branch around your face. Haha!

"Grafted"

That's all for now! Good luck on your senior year Luke, I know you'll do great!

VSCO Film Love

Hey there all! Hope you're all enjoying your first days of summer, I sure am!

I've had VSCO film presets in my Lightroom preset library for quite sometime, but I've finally got out of my comfort zone and played along with it. Needless to say: I LOVE IT! So enjoy this shoot with some of my friends! :D

(Oh yes, for those of you that don't know what VSCO film is: VSCO film is a photo preset that mimics  old school film: including colored fades and grain!)

You could also check out my mobile photography VSCO shots at chrisrivera.vsco.co!

Little did we know that the place where we were originally doing our photoshoot needed a permit, we had to quickly relocate to another place we've shot before.

New model of mine: everyone say hi to John!

A portrait shot after a concept I shot with Erika! Props to her doing her own make-up!

Later on in the evening, Brianna joined up with us for some editorial type shots!

We went and kicked it at the mall, giving the shoot it's fashion look!

Concepts that came out of this shoot! (For original captions, check out my Instagram: @xxcjrxx)

I had a blast as always, thanks my models for being patient with me! (again. :P Haha!)

Oh yes, and some exciting news: I am the new and proud owner of a 50mm f/1.4! I'll post some shots that I took with it within the next few days!

Enjoy your weekend!
